Track and Field Qualifies 21 for NCAA Championships

The nationally ranked men’s and women’s track and field teams qualified 21 student athletes for the 2020 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The No. 3-ranked women qualified 12 students in seven events, while the No. 8 men’s team qualified nine in six events. It was the largest group of qualifiers ever for the Missouri Southern program.

The event, which had been set for March 13-14 in Birmingham, Ala., was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cornesia Calhoun-White and Kiara Smith: 60-meter hurdles

Payton Roberts: Shot put

Kirsten Leisinger: Weight throw


Rajindra Campbell: Shot put

Josh Fulmer and Travis Petersen: Weight throw

Josh Norvile and Brendan Watkins: Long jump

Adrain Broadus and Brendan Watkins: Triple jump

Dean Howard: Pole vault Gidieon Kimutai: 5,000-meter run Ryan Riddle: 1-mile
