Teacher Candidates Meet Potential Employers

Students from the College of Education had the opportunity to meet with potential K-12 employers and graduate programs during a career fair held in February.

The current academic year is expected to produce 120 teacher candidates, with 45 certified in high- need content areas such as special education, TESOL, and K-12 instrumental and vocal.

Lorinda Hackett, interim dean, says the event is an excellent way for new teachers to connect with the local school districts.

“The Teacher Education Career Fair is a tremendous example of the powerful networking that occurs very organically between our school district partners and the Teacher Education Department,” she says. “We’re committed to each other for the benefit of their students and our teacher candidates.”
