Mark your calendars for Pride & Purpose Day

Two dedicated supporters of Missouri Southern will be recognized during the first Pride & Purpose Day on Saturday, Feb. 10, during the Lions basketball game vs. Central Missouri.

The Lion–Hearted Award and the Spirit of Service Award will be announced during the event, which will include an 11 a.m. brunch for the awardees in the North End Zone Facility and recognition during halftime at the game.

The Lion–Hearted Award is given to individuals who have made significant contributions to the university through outstanding service, financial support, student recruitment or other efforts to improve Joplin Junior College or Missouri Southern State University. Nominees do not have to be alumni of the university.

The Spirit of Service Award recognizes an alumnus of Missouri Southern who has made significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talent and dedication outside any required volunteer work for their employer. Nominees should demonstrate an outstanding passion for helping others in their community.
